Our Mission
The Kathy Kuhl Memorial Scholarship has been created to honor Kathy Kuhl, a middle school math teacher in the Monroe Public Schools for nearly 40 years. Kathy was passionate about math and helping her students achieve at high levels. She was an advocate for students and teachers, always helping to further education in Monroe. Her loyalty to her students, peers and her profession shined through everything she did. Kathy was a leader among her peers, as she was the Monroe Education Association Vice President for  years.  Kathy mentored numerous student teachers to help prepare the next generation of teachers. When she wasn’t working, Kathy enjoyed time with her family, as well as cheering on her beloved Yankees.  She lived her life with passion and energy.

The recipient of this scholarship should embody many of the qualities that Kathy exhibited. All applicants should have earned a minimum of 3.0 GPA and plan to pursue a degree in Mathematics Education or a Math related field.
